Project Manager Job Overview

The Project Manager will oversee client projects of all sizes, as assigned, with some supervision. The individual may also be asked to manage components of (or individual projects within) very large projects/programs under the direction of a lead Project Manager and/or the Director of Project Management. This role is ideal for candidates who already have 3–5 years of experience in a project management–specific role OR 5–10 years of demonstrable project management skills (i.e., transferrable skills) aligned with the general description here. In general, hourly rates will range from $30 to $40 per hour.

Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties

  • Developing and managing project workflows and schedules;
  • Delegating project assignments to resources per scheduled deadlines;
  • Tracking the status of project deliverables as assignments are completed, and being able to provide updates to both clients and internal stakeholders if requested;
  • Tracking and managing project budgets, including approving and tracking invoices from our vendor partners;
  • Identifying project risks and issues, and coordinating with all necessary stakeholders to resolve them with minimal impact on schedules, budgets, and quality;
  • Communicating with clients and internal stakeholders;
  • Other duties as assigned relating to managing projects and resources.

Project Manager Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of project management experience (ideally in educational publishing or EdTech, but this is not a requirement) OR 5–10 years of demonstrable project management skills aligned with the general description here;
  • Superior communication, management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;
  • A passion for amplifying the voices of populations historically excluded from or marginalized within a given industry;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects (ideally for primary and secondary education markets) according to scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing project workflows and schedules according to client requirements (ideally in both Smartsheet and Microsoft Excel);
  • Extensive familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite (especially Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel);
  • Experience using and supporting others in the use of Dropbox (preferred), OneDrive, Google Drive, or a similar cloud-based file storage system designed for collaboration.
